Willie Robinson Thackston February 14, 1928 – October 23, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Mrs. Willie Robinson Edwards Thackston, 90, of 206 Bethune Street North, Greenwood, South Carolina entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at her home. She was born in Ware Shoals, South Carolina on February 14, 1928 where she met her first husband James T. Edwards who predeceased her in 1978. “Tootsie” as she was called by many was a graduated of Emma Maddox Public School System, a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and retired from Belks Department Store and The Clothesline after many years of service.

Mrs. Thackston was married to the late William Thackston who predeceased her in 1998. She is also predeceased by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen (Nannie Lou) Robinson, two brothers, six sisters, her mother-in-law, Mrs. Florine Thackston and sister-in-law, Mrs. Winnie Murray. Leaving to cherish her most precious memories are; her daughters, Janette Edwards Ligon (Bobby) of Ninety-Six, South Carolina and Sandra Milner of the home; one grandson, Rodney Edwards (Benica); three great grands, Asia M. Edwards of Greenville, South Carolina; Mya N. Edwards and Calvin T. Edwards of Greenwood, South Carolina, one former brother-in-law, Samuel E. Murray of Port Royal, South Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 27, 2018 in the Sanctuary of Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Reverend John C. Aiken, Pastor and Officiating, assisted by Reverend Rebecca C. Aiken, Reverend Marvin O’Neal Hughes and Reverend Hattie Henderson. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Robert Keller, George Pasley, Brian Childress, Earl Warren, Brandon Childress, Alvin Roundtree and Douglas Lindsey.

Flower Bearers will be Almeta Keller, Jackie Williams, Shirley Pasley, Mildred Thomas, Belinda Turner and Mary Jeter. The family is at the home. There will be no public viewing.
