Winfred Roland Blanton September 30, 1940 – December 28, 2018 Local Florists Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Winfred Blanton Gaffney, SC – – Winfred Roland Blanton, 78, of 304 Cresthaven Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Magnolias of Gaffney. Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Brenda Allen Blanton and the son of the late Lloyd Blanton and Annie Parris Blanton. He was a graduate of Gaffney High School, an avid Gaffney Indian fan and retired from Hoechst Celanese and Belk.

Mr. Blanton was a member of Temple Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon. In addition to his wife, also surviving are three sons, Scott Blanton and wife, Shella of Summerville, Bryan Blanton and wife, Jackie of Simpsonville and Mark Blanton of the home; a brother, Lee Blanton and wife, Shirley of Gaffney; two sisters, Mildred Farmer and husband, Jack and Margaret Holmes, both of Gaffney; six grandchildren, Jake Blanton and wife, Vanessa, Will Blanton, Zach Blanton, Ben Blanton, Robyn Blanton and D.J. Blanton. Mr. Blanton was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Blanton; and a sister, Betty Jean Head.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:00 PM on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12:00 PM in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Andy Cooper officiating. Entombment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
