Obituary for Winona M. “Winnie” Kleinhenz Winona M. “Winnie” Kleinhenz, 97, of Wapakoneta, died 12:00 p.m., Fri. May 18, 2018, at The Gardens, Wapakoneta. She was born Jan.

17, 1921, in Wapakoneta, the daughter of Frank & Matilda (Schneider) Hemmert, who preceded her in death. On June 26, 1948, she married Edwin B. Kleinhenz, and he died May 31, 1977. Survivors included, 2 sisters-in-law, Betty Hemmert, Toledo, OH, & Marie Perrin, Wapakoneta, numerous nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Kleinhenz, and 6 brothers, Ivan, Franklin, Clifford, Roland, Alfred, & Richard Hemmert. A homemaker, Winnie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta. She was a 1938 graduate of New Knoxville High School.

Her hobbies included playing cards and traveling. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tues. May 22, 2018, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, 1102 Lincoln Ave.

Burial is to follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m., until time of service, Tues. at the funeral home.
