Obituary for Adella S. Wilson Adella S. Wilson, 98, of Wapakoneta, formerly of Jackson Center, died 1:55 p.m., Tues. May 2, 2018, at The Gardens of Wapakoneta. She was born January 5, 1920, in Auglaize County, OH, the daughter of Theodore & Sarah (Lammers) Kuck, who preceded her in death.
In 1945 she married Edward F. Heffner, M.D., and he died in 1965. In 1975 she married Frank B. Wilson and he died in 1998. Survivors include, 2 children, Frank & Nancy Heffner, Wapakoneta, Caroline Todd & Philip Bourque, Block Island, RI, 2 granddaughters, Melinda (Matt) Colvin, St. Marys, & Leslie (David Okerlund) Heffner, Tallahassee, FL, 3 great granddaughters, Allison Heffner, Tara McClure, & Ella Okerlund.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Harold “Mac” Todd; and siblings, Viola (Wesley) Eversman, Marcella (Albert) Clausing, Harold (Joyce) Kuck, Orloe (Dorothy) Kuck, & Sylvanus (Ruth) Kuck. Adella worked as a secretary with the Wapakoneta Daily News and the Wapakoneta Machine Co She also served as organist with the First English Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta, and Emanuel Lutheran Church, Montra, OH.
She was organist for 50 years until her retirement at age 90. Her memberships included the Frist English Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta, the Order of the Eastern Star and Eastern Star Past Matrons, the Wapakoneta Woman’s Club, the Irving Club, and the American Club of Jackson Center. Adella was a graduate of New Knoxville High School and the University of Northwestern Ohio formerly known as the Lima Business College.
She sang with the Lima Symphony Chorus, played the cornet in the Lima Area Concert Band, and enjoyed gardening and traveling. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Sat. May 12, 2018, at the First English Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta with Pastors Neil Brady and David Sanders officiating.
Burial of her cremated remains will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Fri. May 11, 2018, at the Bley Funeral Home & Crematory 1102 Lincoln Ave.
