Alan Roy Lane, 58, of Salisbury, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019. He was born July 15, 1960, in Salisbury to Helen Shinn Lane and the late Elbert Keeling Lane. Alan attended East Rowan High School and Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he formerly worked for Tidwell and Oakwood Homes, later becoming the owner of Lane’s Construction Company. He enjoyed traveling to the beach, fishing, and finding hoppy toads with his grandchildren. In addition to his father, Alan was preceded in death by his brothers, Mitchell Hopkins and Alvin Hopkins.

In addition to his mother, Alan is survived by his daughter, Shannon Lane Shulenberger of Salisbury; son, Wesley Alan Lane and wife, Dezarae, of Salisbury; eight grandchildren, Mahayla Finney, Kaleb Shulenberger, Javin Lane, Riley Lane, Katie Lane, Jacob Jordan, Colby Jordan, and Isabella Shulenberger; former wife of 27 years, Vickie Lane; brother, Michael Lane and wife, Belinda, of Salisbury; and sister, Susan Lane Hill of Salisbury. The family will greet friends and relatives on Friday, January 11, 2019, 1:30 pm – 2:45 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home, Rockwell. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm Friday, January 11, in the chapel of Powles Staton Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens. Powles Staton Funeral Home of Rockwell is assisting the Lane family. Online condolences may be made at www.
