Michael Sidorovic ,72, of Rockwell, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Salisbury VA Medical Center in Salisbury, NC. He was born September 12, 1946 in Long Island, NY to Walter Sidorovic and Josephine Wilaz Sidorovic. Michael was a United States Army Veteran 101st Airborne, bravely serving during Vietnam.

He received a National Defense Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and a Sharpshooter Badge. Michael was a massive gardener and enjoyed astronomy. His grandchildren were the highlight of his life.

Michael is survived by his daughter, Keri Hollyfield and husband Chris; sons, Michael Walter Sidorovic and wife Wendy and Andrew Peter Sidorovic and wife Kathryn; sister, Karen Stirewalt and husband Steven; and his grandchildren, Savannah Wheeler, Michael William Sidorovic, Madeline Sidorovic, Cheyenne Wheeler, Sean Yarnell, Kyra Hollyfield, Adam Yarnell, Timothy Sidorovic, and Amber Reese Hollyfield. The memorial service will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the Salisbury National Cemetery with the Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard and the National Guard providing Military Graveside Rites. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517.
