Albert W. Vigorito, son of the late Albert and Sadie Montesano Vigorito passed away peacefully on October 12, 2018 with his loving family by his side as he passed into that next life. Albert was born on January 11, 1932, weighing in at just over 2lbs, his loving sisters kept him alive keeping him warm by the oven and feeding him with an eye dropper. Albert grew up on Chestnut Street in New Haven and settled in East Haven after his marriage to his late wife, Frances Parker Vigorito.

There they had two children, Lisa Vigorito Borelli (Richard) and Michael A. Vigorito. Mr. Vigorito was a Korean War veteran and served his country proudly. Before his service Albert worked for the Lamberti sausage Co. and finally retired in 2013 after 67 years of service.

He would proudly say he made an estimated 17million pounds of sausage. He also worked a second job with the City of New Haven school system as a night custodian for nearly 30 years until his retirement in 1995. He enjoyed all kinds of music, but nothing could compare to his love of Frank Sinatra, Luciano Pavarotti, Perry Como, Dean Martin, and Al Jolsen.

His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren, Rachel, Michelle, Joseph, Kristina, and Great Granddaughter Sophia. He had a wealth of friends and was well loved by all who came in contact with him. He loved playing cards at the Alpha Club, volunteering at the Willows of Woodbridge, going to Dunkin’ and talking with the guys and going to the casino with his son and brother-in-law Sal.

Albert was predeceased by his parents Albert and Sadie Vigorito, his brothers Charles, Andrew, and Alfred Vigorito. His sisters Mary Vigorito, Josephine Vigorito Pisani and Edith Vigorito Macri, and his one living sister Anna Vigorito Brindisi formerly of West Haven. A famous quote from our father was, “Heaven, it must be a wonderful place, no one ever came back to complain about it”.

Rest In Peace Dad! Visiting hours will be Wednesday morning from 9:00-11:00am in the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc. 11 Wooster Pl. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Michael Church at 11:30.
