Aldeana’s Obituary Aldeana Dias Polumsky was born in Vernalis on June 15, 1935 to Elias Dias and Mary Nunes Dias. She was one of 10 siblings; Mary Carvalho, Irma Issom, Tony Dias, Edward Dias, Eva Fantazia, Andrew Dias, Dorothy Pires, George Dias and Angie Goeken-Taylor. Aldeana lived most of her life in Modesto.

She was a Modesto High School graduate in the class of 1955. She married Clarence Polumsky in the 1970’s. They moved to Montana, then Idaho before returning to California in 2005.

She worked as a housekeeper and cook at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church for 20 years. Aldeana was a member of the YLI in Modesto and Newman and the American Legion Auxiliary in Gustine. She enjoyed spending time with family on the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

She is survived by two siblings, Irma Issom of Galt and Edward Dias of Glendale; niece, Jeanette (Bruce) Fantazia Sawyer of Modesto; nephew John (Carole) Fantazia of Phoenix, Arizona; step-son, Andy (Terri) Polumsky of Montana; brother-in-law, Andy Piers of Lake Oroville; sister-in-law, Joan Dias of Modesto; numerous other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm, Monday, January 21st at Hillview Funeral Chapel in Newman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, January 22nd at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Newman.

Interment to follow at Hills Ferry Cemetery in Newman. Services conducted by Hillview Funeral Chapel, Newman.
