Alice’s Obituary Alice G. Yoder, age 78, of Harleysville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Wednesday, February 6, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late James N. Hackman and the late Carl D. Yoder. Born May 21, 1940 in Franconia she was a daughter of the late Clayton A. and Sarah (Gehman) Derstine.

Alice was a long-time member of Plains Mennonite Church, loved being a Sunday school teacher and being involved in the church small group. She enjoyed going for long Sunday drives, loved gospel music and hymns, especially going to hymn sings. She enjoyed baking, reading, vacationing with family at Ocean City New Jersey.

Her true passion was her children and she cherished the times they spent together. She is survived by her children Connie Bean and her husband David, Lisa Edenfield and her husband Bradford and James Hackman and his wife Laurie; grandchildren Shannon, Ashlynn, David, Rebecca, Joshua, Rachel, Jacob, Matthew, Luke, Daniel; siblings Herman Derstine, Marie Reinford, Jane Derstine, Jean Derstine and Eileen Schmidt. She was preceded in death by her siblings Roy Derstine, Henry Derstine and Mildred Moyer.

Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at 11 AM on Monday, February 11, 2019 at Plains Mennonite Church, 50 W. Orvilla Road, Hatfield, PA 19440, where the family will greet guests from 10:00 – 10:45 AM. Interment will take place in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Alice’s name may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Fl.
