Obituary for Alice Roten Gregory “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away”. Revelation 21:4 Bluefield, WV- Alice Roten Gregory gained her wings on May 22, 2018, at Mercer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bluefield, WV. Born on September 27, 1949, to John T. Roten, Jr. and Catherine Evans Roten, Alice was a homemaker and former employee of Unique Cleaners and Aramark.
She was an avid gardener and greatly enjoyed fishing and hunting with her late husband. Her greatest joys in life were her grandchildren, whom she adored. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, John and Catherine; her husband of 44 years, Charles H. Gregory; her stepson, Richard Gregory; and her brother, Don Roten.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Donna Edwards and husband Bryan of Bluefield, WV; her stepchildren, Rebecca Gregory of Bluefield, WV; Charles Lane Gregory of Lindside, WV; and Tammy Tabor of Bluefield, WV; her grandchildren, Jacob Edwards and girlfriend, Rena Smith of Bluefield, WV; Dametrea Edwards of Bluefield, WV; Dakota Edwards of Bluefield, WV, Tara Sparks and husband Matthew of Bluefield, WV; Michael Roaten and wife Alexandria of Harrison, Michigan; Jordan Gregory of Bluefield, WV; Jessica Gregory of Bluefield, WV; and Gabriel Tabor of Bluefield, WV; along with numerous great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was loved and will be missed by many. As per her wishes, Alice will be cremated and her ashes spread at a family cemetery alongside her husband’s.
