Obituary for Gloria Imogene Melvin High Point, NC– Gloria Imogene Melvin, 72, passed away June 27, 2018. She was born December 10, 1945, in Mercer County, WV, to the late Robert Lee and Freda Imogene Harris. Gloria retired from OCV Physical Therapy after many years of service and later relocated to High Point in 2006.

She was an avid fan of the Food Network and HGTV and also enjoyed listening to old Rock-n-Roll music. Gloria was known for being a strong, independent and honest lady. A wonderful and loving mother and grandmother who was always concerned for their well-being, she will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her long-time partner, Aaron Cadle of the home; two daughters and their husbands, Tammy and Bud Acken of Radford, VA, and Karen and Tommy Perry of Princeton, WV; one sister, Nancy Haney (Alvin) of Canton, GA; five grandchildren, Sara Treadwell, Aaron Honaker, Bryan Honaker, Travis Lambert and Laura Cole; six great grandchildren, Logan, Aiden and Emily Broyles, Kylie and Aubree Honaker and Madelyn Cole; and many extended Cadle family members consisting of three stepdaughters, one stepson, eight step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Ray Melvin. Funeral services will be held at Mercer Funeral Home Chapel on Monday July 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.
