MADISON – Alois W. “Al” Frei, age 90, passed away in his home on Monday, June 25, 2018. He was born on January 7, 1928 in Madison, WI the son of Alois Sr. and Rose (Wagner) Frei. Al graduated from Madison East High School in 1946.

He enlisted in the US Army, serving in the Korean War as a Technical Sergeant until his honorable discharge in 1947. He married Roberta Miller on June 4, 1949 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Al was a charter member of St. Peter Catholic Church.

He worked for Kilgust Mechanical Heating & Air, spanning most of his career until retirement. Al is survived by his sons, Jeffrey (Wei) of Hawthorn Woods, IL and Daniel (Kelly) of Oregon, WI; grandson, Carl; and close cousin, Dick Wagner. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Roberta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Friday, June 29, 2018 at ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 North Sherman Avenue, Madison.

A visitation will be held from 9AM until the time of Mass on Friday at the church. Burial will be held at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. To view and sign this guestbook, please visit: www.
