Amelia A Kauffman Petersheim , March 12, 1935 — December 15, 2018

Amelia A. Petersheim, 83, of Oakland, MD, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at her home. Born March 12, 1935, in Dover, DE, she was the daughter of the late Alvin A and Annie C. (Zook) Kauffman. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Fred, Noah, and Junior Kauffman; a sister, Mary Yoder and a granddaughter, Janelle Miller.

In her youth, she was baptized upon her confession of her faith in Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of Gortner Amish Church. Amelia was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, John J. Petersheim; five sons, David W. Petersheim, Oakland; Eldon J. Petersheim (Laura); Oakland; Alva R. Petersheim, (Marion) Chuckey TN; Mervin J. Petersheim, Oakland; Lloyd E. Petersheim, (Carol) Reedsville, WI; four daughters, Wilma A. Petersheim, Belleville, AR; Barbara J. Miller, (Paul) Cottage Grove, TN; Elva M. Farmwald, (Dean) Albany, KY; Elma M. Petersheim, Cottage Grove, TN; three brothers, John Kauffman, Chatham, VA; Joe Kauffman, Virginia; Alpha Kauffman, Oakland; four sisters, Alma Beachy, Timewell, IL; Lydia Yoder, El Dorado Springs, MO; Bertha Stoll, Lindsey, Ontario; Laura Swartzentruber, Holmesville, OH; 28 grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

Friends will be received at Gortner Amish Church, 3271 Mason School Rd. , Oakland, MD, on Monday and Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will be conducted at Gortner Amish Church on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. with Bishop Alvin Beachy officiating. Interment will be in Gortner Amish Cemetery.

Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Dr., Oakland, MD, is in charge of her arrangements. Pallbearers will be Jalen Farmwald, Anthony Petersheim, Jason Farmwald, Jeffery Petersheim, Jonathon Petersheim and Joshua Miller.
