Obituary for Amelie Breaux Obituary for Amelie Bernadette Crochet Breaux After living a long healthy life of one hundred and one years our mother the “Queen”, Amelie Bernadette Crochet Breaux left this life to join our Heavenly Father and our father Herbert A. Breaux, Sr., on September 4, 2018. Amelie was born on April 26, 1917, to Aimae and Alex Crochet. She was a native of Pierre Part, Louisiana, a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church, the Ladies Alter Society, Eucharistic Minister, she assisted Father Tom with visits to the homebound, and she enjoyed playing Skip Bow with her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert A. Breaux, Sr., her son Herbert A. Breaux, Jr., and by grandsons Guy A. Miller and John J. Breaux, a daughter-in-law, Emily Breaux (John), as well as her parents Aimae Blanchard and Alex Crochet, Sr., and her ten siblings. She is survived by her daughters Jane Miller (Ervin), Laura Nell Pipsair (Joseph), Mavis Landry (Carl), Valerie Landry, (Gervais), Amelie Blanchard, (Gerald), Christine B. Templet, (Rickey), and her sons John, Michael, (Catherine), and Matthew Breaux. She is survived by one brother, Alex Crochet, Jr, (Joann), a daughter-in-law, Pattie Foret Breaux, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Together Amelie and Herbert raised ten children, they enjoyed thirty-five grandchildren, sixty-one great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren who are left to cherish their memory. There will be a wake for the “Queen” from 9:00 AM on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at St. Joseph the Worker Church Hall till time of mass at 11:00 AM at the St Joseph the Worker Church. Burial is to follow in the church cemetery.
The family wishes to thank Father Al, the rosary group, Telizia Landry (her godchild) for faithfully bringing communion to her weekly. Our thanks also to Dr. Landry, Notre Dame Hospice staff and especially the nurses who showed loving care to our mother and to our family.
