Andrew Adamus, 74, of Drums, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest, Allentown. Andy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His unfailing good nature and wonderful sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Andy was born into a Polish family in Schotmar, Germany, on September 25, 1944, under difficult circumstances in World War II. He was the son of the late Andrzej and Aniela (Grabias) Adamus. He spent the past 14 years in Drums, having previously lived in New Jersey in Green Brook, Rahway, Linden, and Elizabeth.
Andy retired as a Technical Representative for the Westvaco paper company, New York City. Earlier, he was a printing pressman and supervisor for Drucker Printing, Linden, NJ. He was an Army veteran during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1967, attaining the rank of SP5.
He was a member of St. John Bosco RC Church, Sugarloaf, where he was active in the choir. He also sang in the Resurrection Choir at Good Shepherd RC Church, Drums. He enjoyed playing golf at Sand Springs Golf Club and traveled extensively, having visited over 40 countries, including some of South America, China, Australia, New Zealand, Cuba and most of Europe.
Andy was the loving husband for the past 52 years of the former Constance Misiur. He was the caring father of two daughters, Sheila Liotta and her husband Louis, Cumberland, Rl; and Sharon Caraballo and her husband David, Clifton, VA. He was the devoted grandfather of Nicholas and Marissa Liotta and Andrew Caraballo.
He is also survived by several cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a sister, Aniela Gryziec, and a brother, Stanley Adamus His funeral will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 9:30 am from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. John Bosco RC Church, 573 State Route 93, Sugarloaf. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday evening 7-9 pm. A Christian Wake Service will be held Monday evening. Memorial donations may be made to Lehigh Valley Health Network, Office of Philanthropy, 2100 Mack Blvd.
