Hinton, age 86 of Quitman, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Merit Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi following a lengthy illness. He was retired from AT&T as a lineman, repairman. He was known throughout the Parish as “Zabud” and the “Telephone Man”.

He is preceded in death by his wife Bobbie J. Hinton; parents, R.S. and Mattie Eva Hinton; brothers, Delmer Hinton, Levon Hinton, Carson Hinton; sisters, Louise Bridges, Earnestine Womack. He is survived by two sons, Gerald Hinton and wife Shirleena of Quitman, Kemp Hinton and wife Penny of Quitman; two daughters, Kathy Lowrey and husband Rickey, Barbara Lowrey and husband Mark of Quitman; nine grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; one sister, Lona Johnson of Quitman; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with the family 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM Friday, January 11, 2019 at Antioch Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services will follow at 11:00AM with Reverend Geary Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Cody Hinton, Leo Walker, Wade Watson, Bradley Keiffer, Shawn Rowell, and Harry Wooldridge.

Honorary pallbearer will be Dusty Hinton.
