Arthur L Rodgers born June 9, 1927 in Joliet, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home , May 24, 2018. Age 90 Survived by his children Arthur Rodgers, Barbara Hrusosky, and Diane (Tim) McNally. Arthur was a beloved grandfather to 12 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren.

He was a husband, a father, a brother, a cousin, a friend, and Uncle Art to many. Proceeded in death by parents Frederick and Mildred Rodgers, wife of 54 years Catherine Jean Rodgers, brother Robert Rodgers, grandson Anton Kemnetz, and daughter-in-law Dorothy Rodgers. Art served in the United States Army in WWll.

He was a devoted family man. He worked hard to provide for his family and then enjoyed his 25 years of retirement. He loved bowling, fishing, and his White Sox.

Art and his wife Jean had many adventures together and loved camping, their trips to Las Vegas, and then boating and relaxing at the cottage on the Kankakee River. After retirement, Art started golfing and still golfed in league last summer at age 90. He enjoyed gambling and visited Harrah’s most days, and was greeted by many there, by his first name.

Art, you were sixteen days shy of being 91 and still driving and getting out of the house. You created an amazing family. We can only hope to live such a long and fulfilled life.

This world will not be the same without you. Happy you and grandma are together again. May your heavenly life be as full as your life on earth.

You snuck off without saying goodbye, just like you always did. We love you and will miss you! Arthur will be interred at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery on June 6, 2018 at 1:30 pm.
