Obituary for Barbara A. Lynch Barbara A. (Robare) Lynch, 90, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 24, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center. Born August 12, 1928, daughter of the late Clarence and Lalia (Buckingham) Robare, she lived in Springfield for many years, and also resided in Chicopee. Barbara was a graduate of the High School of Commerce, Class of 1946.

She continued her education and studied accounting at Western New England College. Barbara retired in 1987 after forty years of service as an Associate Director in the Group Life & Health Accounting Department of Mass Mutual Insurance Co She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi international organization, and a longtime volunteer at Baystate Medical Center.

She enjoyed traveling, theater and gardening. Barbara was predeceased in 1979 by her beloved husband, William J. Lynch, and is survived by her loving sisters, Kathryn Bechard and husband Lawrence, of Springfield and Margaret Fratini and husband Francis , of VA; and several nieces and nephews, especially Lynnann Bechard of Springfield, and Lawrence Bechard, Jr. of Wilbraham. She was predeceased by her siblings, Richard Robare, Shirley Fratini, Helen Herrick, and Dorothy Guyette.

A funeral home service for Barbara will be held at 11AM on Thursday at Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 9-10:45AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, MA Chapter, 264 Cottage St., Springfield, MA 01104.
