Barbara C. Waits, 66, a longtime Greensburg resident passed away Monday, February 11, 2019 in Greenfield, IN. Barbara was born in Rushville, IN on June 26, 1952 to the late James ”Jim” and Josephine (Ruddell) Waits. Barbara was a 1970 graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School.

She later received her degree in social work from Ball State University. Barbara was a licensed social worker for Child Services in Rush and Decatur County for many years. After she retired Barbara enjoyed being a pet sitter.

Barbara attended Milroy United Methodist Church, she was a member of the Tree County Players in Greensburg and the Rush County Music Study Club. She enjoyed music and her time with the Tree County Players and providing transportation for her friends. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Kathryn Waits of Knightstown, 3 nephews, Christopher Waits, Craig Waits and wife Meg and Jeff Nichols and wife Jatanna.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by a brother, Richard “Dick” Waits, 2 sisters, Lois and Alice and her step mother, Lillian. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 PM Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Milroy United Methodist Church. Friends are welcome to visit from 12 PM until the time of service the same day at the church.

Burial will be in Rushville’s East Hill Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Milroy United Methodist Church, the Tree County Players; P.O.
