Barbara Frances Yeatts, 84, of 4607 Katies Trail, Winston-Salem, NC went home to be with the Lord on March 8, 2019 after a very short illness. Barbara was born in Rockingham, County NC on May 4, 1934, a daughter to the late Doctor Lee Gover and Lillie Underwood Gover. She had lived in Danville for over 50 years prior to moving to Winston-Salem to live for the last fifteen years.

She graduated from the former Schoolfield High School. She retired from Danville Public Schools after thirty years of service at Woodrow Wilson Middle School. Barbara was an avid flower gardener and she loved to travel with her loving daughter and best friend, Mitzi.

She was of the Methodist Faith. On June 29, 1957, she married Buddy L. Yeatts, who survives of the residence. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mitzi Cusack and husband Kirk, of Winston-Salem, NC; three sisters, Margaret “Maggie” Mize and husband Danny Somers, of Reidsville, NC, Sondra Gregory and husband Landon, of Vinton, VA, and LaVerne Adkins and husband Danny, of Las Vegas, NV; a brother, Doctor Lee “Bud” Gover, Jr. and wife Diane, of Olathe, KS; a brother-in-law, Tommy Yeatts and wife Linda, of Danville, VA; and a very special granddog, Dixie.

A graveside service will be held in Danville Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at 3:00 PM. The family will be receiving friends at the residence. The family wishes to give special thanks to Tommy and Linda Yeatts, Sue Hyler, and Maggie Mize for their outstanding support and loving care they gave to Barbara.
