Barbara Jean Hay Carlson was born in Salt Lake City on April 6, 1927 to Raymond and Thelma Hay and passed away peacefully on June 16, 2018. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family. Barbara lived most of her life in the Holladay area where she and husband Joe built their own home and raised a beautiful family.

She will be fondly remembered for her kindness and love for others and for her total selfless devotion and love for her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Emanuel Carlson; sons, Barney Carlson and Matthew Carlson; and sister, Dolores Draper. She is survived by daughter, Charlene Passey (Mark); son, Corey Carlson; daughters-in-law, Cozette Carlson and Tracy Carlson; as well as 14 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

We are grateful for the caregivers at Canyon Hospice and Holladay Health Care for their kind and compassionate care. Friends and family are invited to visit Thursday, June 21, 9:30-10:30 AM at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, followed by a graveside service at 11:00 AM at the Holladay Memorial Cemetery, 4900 South Memory Lane, followed by a picnic lunch.
