Barry Charles Pelzer, 57, of Murphysboro, passed away at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2019, in DuQuoin. Barry was born on May 13, 1961, in Murphysboro, to Joseph and Betty (Fielding) Pelzer. He had worked at Lustour Corp.

in Murphysboro. Barry was married to Mary Kay Thomas, and to that union were two children Jason and Jessica. Mr. Pelzer had attended Victory Christian Fellowship in Murphysboro.

Barry is survived by three children Jason Pelzer and his wife Amy Pelzer of Murphysboro, Jessica Gallegos and her husband Chris Gallegos of Gorham, and Greg Murray and his wife Lindsey Murray of Carterville; seven grandchildren Makayla Pelzer, Hunter Pelzer, Jaysie Pelzer, Drake Pelzer, Chase Murray, Alyssa Murray and Declan Murray; and three brothers David Pelzer and his wife Donna Pelzer of Murphysboro, Randy Pelzer of Austin, TX and Gary Pelzer of Murphysboro. He was preceded in death by one brother Alan Pelzer and his parents. His body will be cremated and a gravesite service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2019, at Tower Grove Cemetery with Rev.
