Obituary for BeEtta Jo Briggs BeEtta Jo Briggs, age 93, of Johnson City, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, in Cornerstone Village following an extended illness. Mrs. Briggs was the daughter of the late Bernice Rawls Patten and Oliver Patten and was born in Enid, OK. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Taylor Briggs, a daughter, Barbara Higgins, a granddaughter, Tammy Deno and all of her brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Briggs was a wonderful mother who loved to sew, crochet and solve word puzzles. She was a great cook and was of the Baptist faith. Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Robert Briggs and wife, Kelly, of Florida; James Briggs and wife, Sheila, of Johnson City; two daughters, Victoria Graves and husband, Johnny, of Florida; Terri Dugger, Hampton; thirteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Several nieces and nephews also survive. A service to honor the life of Mrs. Briggs will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, in the Rhododendron Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Roan Mountain with her great-grandson, Rev. Randy McKinney officiating.

The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM on Wednesday prior to the service. Interment will follow the funeral service on Wednesday in the Isaac Cemetery, Roan Mountain. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
