Bernard Olin Younce May 04, 1934 – January 26, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences Bernard Olin “Sonny” Younce, 84, Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Ed & Cozette Troxell Younce. He was a graduate of Elizabethton.

He was employed for 15 years with the Elizabethton Fire Department, worked in construction for 30 years. Sonny had a recording studio for 60 years. He was a member and song leader for the Lighthouse for Jesus for 30 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Wilson, his brothers: Ed Younce & Kenneth Younce and a step-son: Gary Blackwell. He leaves behind his wife of 40 years: Connie Vogt Younce. Two Sons: Gene Younce, Elizabethton & Richard Younce, Chase City, Virginia.

Granddaughters Lori Younce, Damon & Harley Blackwell, his step grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren: Naomi, Ivan & Cadence. Four Brothers: Joe & wife Kathy, Jack & wife Ruth Anne, Lynual & wife Lois and Bill & wife Shirley, his sisters: Phyllis Tester & husband Jimmy and Joyce Rumley & husband Rusty. Several nieces & nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2019 in the Lighthouse for Jesus, Highway 19 E, and Elizabethton with his brother Pastor Bill Younce and Pastor Adam Knight officiating. Music will be provided by the family. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Lighthouse for Jesus.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of Sonny to the Lighthouse for Jesus Church, 125 Meadow Lane, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643. Condolences may be sent to the family at our web-site www.
