Passed away Monday, January 14, 2019 at his residence surrounded by family. He was born October 12, 1946 in Wilmington, Delaware, the son of the late Ira Emerson & Anna Rebecca Wentzel Rupard.

He was the second oldest of five Children. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Steven and a sister, Connie. On October 7, 1978, he married Shirley Short Rupard, then one more time on June 18, 2018.

Ira worked as a brick mason, then as a master plumber and retired in 2008. He enjoyed camping on weekends, watching the Dallas Cowboys and spending time with his family. Ira is survived by his wife, Shirley Short Rupard of Limestone, TN.

His daughters: Jessica Stevenson, of Telford, TN, and Rebecca Jones, of Telford, TN; his sons, Ira Rupard, III, of Nottingham, PA, Tim Rupard, of Oxford, PA, and Kenneth Rupard, of Lancaster, PA; brother Arlin Rupard, Wilmington, DE; sister: Diane Rupard, Wilmington, DE; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A graveside service to honor the life of Ira Emerson Rupard, Jr. (Kenny), will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2019 in the Pearl Bowers Cemetery, Elizabethton, TN, with Rev. Jordan Elliott, officiating.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday in the Memorial Funeral Chapel, Elizabethton, TN. Active pallbearers will be: Ira Rupard, III, Tim Rupard, Jamie Jones, Jordan Elliott, Keith Rutter, Dale J. Roop, Matt VanGerpen, Steven Veatch.
