Obituary for Daryl Robert Rian Daryl Robert Rian, 79, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018 in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born in Aitkin, Minnesota the son of the late Arthur Rian, Sr. and Lucille Moe Rian. During his life, he worked in MN, WA and AK as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver until his retirement in 2010 from HC Contractors in Fairbanks, AK.

He then lived in Mississippi with his wife, Sue until she passed in January, 2015 at which time he moved to Elizabethton, TN to be with family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Kent Alden Rian; three brothers, Ronald Rian, Dennis Rian and Arthur Rian, Jr.; a sister, Judy Rian and his late wife, Sue Rian. Those left to cherish his memory include two sons, Troy Rian, Greeneville, TN and Ross Rian, Elizabethton, TN; grandchildren, Kelli Rian, Elizabethton, TN and her son Quinn (his great-grandchild) and Kara Rian, AK and her three children, Alex, Alyssa and Ashton (his great-grandchildren); two brothers, John Rian and David Rian and sister, Joan Butler, all of MN and the mother of his children, Joan DeJoode, Elizabethton, TN.

Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive in Minnesota and Mississippi. A Celebration of Life Service for Daryl Robert Rian will be held by the family at 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 14, 2019 at the Cornerstone Church, 120 Cornerstone Drive, Johnson City, TN. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Daryl Robert Rian please visit our Sympathy Store.
