Olan Eugene “Pie” Hardin April 27, 1944 – February 16, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences Olan Eugene “Pie” Hardin 74, Elizabethton went home to be with the Lord Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital after a battle with Amyloidosis. Born April 27, 1944 in Elizabethton to the late Auda & Viola Peters Hardin. He was a 1962 graduate of Unaka High School.

Pie was employed at North American Rayon Corporation for several years and retired from Texas Instruments. He was a member of the Good Neighbor Quartet, The Thursday Night Boys and second generation Hardin Brothers Quartet. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Alma “Bo” Williams and two brothers, Charles & Dana Ray Hardin.

He was an avid Tennessee Vol Fan. Survivors include his wife of 53 years who cared for him Karen Taylor Hardin. One Daughter & Son-In-Law: Audra Brooke & Daryl Shanks, two sons & daughters-in-law: Wade & Sarah Hardin and Shane & Laura Hardin and the light of his life his grandchildren: Taylor Shanks, Kassidy Hall and Cooper Shanks.

Two Sisters: Georgia Ellis and Vera Smith & husband Mack, Two Brothers & Sisters-in-Law: David “Doug” & Danette Hardin and Donald “Don” & Carol Hardin. Several nieces & nephews. Graveside Services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2019 in the Blevins Cemetery with the Rev.

Roger Hayley officiating. Active Pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Floyd “Tod” Lowe, Kenneth “Sneed” Shankles, Dean Grindstaff, Leonard Lewis, Clinton “Cooter” Williams, Tommy Verran and Doug Buckles.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made in memory of “Pie” to the Blevins Cemetery Fund PO Box 406, Elizabethton, Tn. 37644. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the members of Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church, New Liberty Free Will Baptist Church and Davy Ensor, care giver for all their prayers and support shown to them during his illness.
