Ricky Glenn McClain December 10, 1955 – January 07, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences Ricky Glenn McClain, 63, Elk Park, North Carolina, passed away Monday, January 7, 2019 in the Johnson City Medical Center after an extended illness. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Henry & Gladys McKinney McClain. Ricky was a 1975 graduate of Hampton High School where he was involved in all of the sports.

He was a heavy equipment operator. He loved the outdoors and creating his own special crafts. He was an avid UT Fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Brenda Fay Wright. Survivors include his wife of 38 years: Teresa Beam McClain. Two Children: Chasty Whittington, Newland, North Carolina and Shatonna Ward, Johnson City.

Four Grandchildren: Chelsey Kirkpatrick, Chase Kirkpatrick, Blake Beam and Autumn Church, and two other grandchildren. Two Brothers: Bobby McClain (Carol), Hampton and Wayne McClain (Camie), Elizabethton. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2019 in the Hampton Christian Church with Mr. Dwayne Calhoun, Minister officiating.

Music will be provided by Debbie Edwards. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Hampton Christian Church, 810 Deerfield Lane, Hampton, TN. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of Ricky to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 299605-4255.
