Bernie Ramsey, 84, of Lotties Creek, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at Care Partners Hospice Solace Center in Asheville. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Carmon and Addie Hensley Ramsey. He was also preceded in death by a brother: Bruce Ramsey and his wife, Earlene; a nephew: Bruce “Buzz” Ramsey; and, 3 nieces: Deborah (Deb), Marcia and Sue.

Surviving are his companion: Gladys Wilson of the home; her children: Clark Edwards and wife, Cathy, of Mars Hill, Dwight and Vickie Edwards of Burnsville; grandchildren: Tyler and Tristan Edwards of Mars Hill; a brother: Bryan Ramsey and wife, Joyce, of DeLand, Florida; 2 nephews: David Ramsey and wife, Lorna, of Hendersonville, and Mike Ramsey of Arden; 4 nieces: Karen McNell of DeLand, Florida, Sharon Kast and husband, Thomas, and Shelly Connor and husband, Greg, all of Fletcher, and Cathy Creasman of Hendersonville. Several great nieces, great nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held at 2PM Friday in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home.

Revs. Marvin Hensley and Tommy Hensley will officiate. Burial will be in the Watts Cemetery on Lotties Creek.

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
