Michael W. Warren, 68, formerly of Yancey County, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, in Kernersville, NC. He was the son of Delores Jackson Warren and the late Clyde W. Warren. Michael was also preceded in death by his wife: Jean Holcombe Warren.

He graduated from East Yancey High School in 1968, furthered his education at Western Carolina University and worked for 43 years for Varco-Pruden until his retirement. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his children: Allison Warren and Andy Warren and Jenny; grandchildren: Xander and Samantha Warren; sister: Patty Shook and Tim; brothers: Tim Warren and Judy, and Len Warren and Anita; and many extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 3PM Saturday at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Chapel in Kernersville.

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
