Betty’s Obituary Betty Ann Sims, 83, of rural Sweet Springs, MO, died Thursday, May 23, 2019 at The Arbors at Westport Estates-Assisted Living in Marshall, MO. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Mt. Zion Christian Church in Dunksburg with Rev.

Gene Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs.

campbell-lewis.com Born September 13, 1935 in Sweet Springs, she was the daughter of the late Lester B. Chappell and Sarah Stoner Chappell. Betty lived in the Sweet Springs area most of her life and was a 1953 graduate of Sweet Springs High School. On May 23, 1953 she married Everett Lavern Sims who preceded her in death on April 23, 2009.

Betty was a homemaker for her family and was a member of Mt. Zion Christian Church and Friends of the Sweet Springs Library. Survivors include three children: Debbie Hines (Chuck) of Marshall, Lezlie Baska (Mark) of Shawnee, KS and Dean Sims of Independence, MO; one daughter-in-law, Daphne Sims Zitelman of Alma, MO; five grandchildren: Scott Hines, Amy Hines, Luke Leever, Levi Sims and Wyatt Sims; one great-grandson, Bo Leever; one sister, Mary Jo Berry of rural Sweet Springs; as well as nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by one son, David Byron Sims; and one sister, Sarah Chappell Peters.
