Betty Lou Helms, 86, of Vale, passed away, Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Lincolnton Rehabilitation Center in Lincolnton. Born in Cleveland County on August 27, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Horace B. Davis and Swannie Hull Davis. Betty was retired from Shadowline and was a member of David’s Chapel United Methodist and the United Methodist Women.

She is survived by a son, Randy Helms of Vale; daughter, Sherry Murphy of Vale; two granddaughters, Wendy Helms and Heather Murphy Sain; great grandchildren, Allie Sain, Jonathan Sain, and Katie Helms; and special friend, Hugh Randall. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, Fallston.

The funeral service will be held on Monday at 3:00 PM in the Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Cathy Turman officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston.
