Madeline Elizabeth Baxter Mincy, 98 of 401 N. Morgan Street, Shelby passed away, Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at White Oak Manor in Shelby. Born November 28, 1919 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Carl Austin Baxter and Emma Jane Grigg Baxter. She graduated from Fallston High School, Lenoir Rhyne College with a major in Education.

She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Mincy; three brothers, Nixon Baxter, Blaine Baxter and wife, Roberta and Herman Baxter and wife, Bonnie and three sisters, Jessie Baxter, Ellen Baxter Beam and husband, Herman and Blanche Baxter Duval. Survivors include a brother-in-law, Charles Duval of Kingsport, TN; sister-in-law, Laura Mae Sain of Lincolnton; nieces, Susan King and husband, Brian of Hickory and Pat King and husband, Chris; three nephews, Maurice Duval and wife, Barbara of Mosheim, Tenn, Tim Baxter and wife, Trina of Hampton, GA and Mark Duval and wife, Kathy of Kingsport, Tenn and five great nieces and nephews, Tiffany Wilson and Tassie Thompson, Jessie Ray King, Lauran Miller and husband, Jonathan and Matthew Duval.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the CNA’s with Helping Hands, Crystal Hampton, Nadine Wallace and Thylncia Taylor. Visitation will be 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, Saturday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home. A funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Saturday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home with Rev.

Neal Brower officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friendship United Methodist Church, PO Box 219, Fallston, NC 28042 or to Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
