Jean Newton Martin, 91, of Casar, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Carillon Assisted Living in Shelby. Born in Cleveland County on November 3, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Ophus Grayson Newton and Effie Louella McNeilly Newton. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Reuben Guy Martin; brother, Gerald Newton; and two sisters, Ottie Whitworth and Annie Ruth Sisk.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, Fallston. At other times, the family will be at the home of Cheryl and Kenneth Beam, 201 Pruitt Rd.
