Obituary for Betty Lou Holsapple Betty Lou (Archer) Holsapple passed away in Indianapolis, IN on January 7, 2019 at the age of 77. She is survived by her sons, John (Carolyn) of Indianapolis, Indiana and Aaron (Lynne) of Jefferson City, Missouri, and her five grandchildren: Julia (Mrs. Ransford Walker), Kathryn and Cameron Holsapple, Rachel and Lauren Holsapple. Betty was preceded in death by her son Scott and husband Elden.

Betty was born in Taylor County, Iowa to Milburn and Louise (Neumeyer) Archer on May 6, 1941. In 1986 Betty earned her LPN degree from Northwest Missouri State University and her Associate Degree in Registered Nursing from Southwestern Community College in Creston, IA in 1988. After graduating from Bedford High School she worked at a bank in St. Joseph, MO where she met Elden Holsapple of Mitchell, IN on a blind date.

They were married on September 23, 1961 and lived in Decatur, IN, Great Bend, KS, and Bloomington, IN. Betty supported her husband in establishing Holsapple Real Estate in 1963 and achieved her real estate salesperson licensure in 1975. The couple welcomed three sons into their home during their 54 years of marriage.

Betty will be remembered for her homemade ice cream and famous persimmon pudding. A lifelong church member, Betty’s treasures were her faith and her family. Funeral services will be Friday, January 11, 2019 at 6:00 PM at the Sherwood Oaks Christian Church in Bloomington, Indiana.

Graveside services will be Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Talbott Cemetery in Mitchell. Friends are invited to visitation at the church on Friday from 4:00 PM until service time. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Betty Lou Holsapple please visit our Sympathy Store.
