Obituary for Betty Shipton Betty Shipton July 23, 1925-May 5, 2018 Betty Shipton, 92, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Saturday May 5, 2018 at Golden Living Center Fountainview in LaPorte, IN. She was born July 23, 1925 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Norman Ohlis and Lucy (Stubblefield) Ohlis. Betty worked for American Rubber and later worked for and retired from La Porte Plastic.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran church and she was also a very caring person and spent her spare time taking care of others. She is survived by her two sons, Bruce Shipton, Michael (Dawn) Shipton; three Grandchildren, Lori (Kevin) Hudson, Keri Reinhart, Krista (Matt) Justice; seven great-grandchildren, Lindsey Adorno, Molly Harness, Jorden Smith, Kaylee Hudson, Noah Justice, Kevin Hudson, Jr., Dylan Justice; and many great-great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Shipton, and two sisters, Joann Hope and Shirley Hewitt.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave. , La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Wednesday, May 16, 2018, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday May 16, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
