Mrs. Beverly Buckner Bailey, age 53, of Old Fort, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Memorial Campus in Asheville, NC. Beverly was born in McDowell County on February 21, 1965 to the late Jimmy and Mary Sue Buckner. She was a longtime member of the Old Fort Wesleyan Church.

Beverly enjoyed to fish, but loved to crochet. She was known as always being in good spirits, as one who always loved to smile and laugh. The family will miss her deeply, but know that she is in a better place.

In addition to her mother, Mary Buckner. Left behind to cherish her memory is her husband Eugene “Zane” Bailey of Old Fort; a step-son, Danny Bailey of Marion; three sisters, Debbie Loftis and husband Randy of Marion, Kathy Chrisawn and husband Tim of Old Fort, and Donna Buckner of Old Fort; and three beloved step grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home of Old Fort.

A funeral service will follow the visitation in the Chapel at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Richard Stanley and Donnie Massengill officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in the Lackey Town Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the American Heart Association at 7272 Greenville Ave. , Dallas, Texas 75231.
