Billie H. Short, 90 of Browning Acres passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington. Mrs. Short was born March 27, 1928 in Pennington Gap, VA to the late John and Nellie Wilder Hinkle. She was a longtime member of the Harlan Baptist Church.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Short; her daughter, Vickie Helvey; and 4 brothers. She is survived by her son, Gary (Dianna) Short; grandchildren, Alan Helvey, Erika Short, Jacob (Becca) Short, great grandchildren, Kierstyn Gregory, Andrew Helvey, and Amelia Short; former son-in-law, Andy Helvey. A graveside service will be held 11:30 am, Saturday (Feb.

2) at the Resthaven Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Josh Haywood officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery.
