Billie’s Obituary Lois Kirby Affectionately known as “Meme” to her family, Mrs. Kirby was taken from us unexpectedly, Thursday evening, March 21, 2019. Lois was born in the Bronx, New York preceded in death by her parents Louis and Edna Richards, and her sister Winifred Kelly. Her loving husband, Wilbert Donald Kirby, known to all as “Kirby”, precedes Lois, in death.

She is survived by her children, Janice Held and husband Greg, Robert Silver and wife Ardel (Ging), Bruce Silver, Nancy Silver and Annie Bragg, Lisa Kirby; and by her sister-in-laws, Era Lois Cammarata, Shelby Edwards, Peggy Kirby, and Nancy Hoopaugh and preceded in death by sister-in-law, Joann Terry. She also has 10 grandchildren, Christopher Held, Tyler Held and Brittany Odell, Ashley Held, Justin and Kelley Silver, Seth and Noeun Silver, Tiger Thompson, Logan Thompson and 4 great-grandchildren, Summer Silver, Kayla Silver, Mathew Silver and Mason Held. Lois was a talented seamstress and tailor, among her many talents.

She was a free spirit and enjoyed painting in watercolors, cooking wonderful Italian meals, and baking desserts. She also loved helping everyone and sharing her recipes and “Lois-isms” (friendly advice) to family and friends. Lois made costumes for the Socastee Singers and for her daughter Lisa’s dance recitals.

She never met and stranger and was loved by many. Lois enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren, of whom she was very proud and often shared cherished photos with her friends. In addition to her family, she also loved her furry family, Liza, Sonny Boy, Judy, Jazzy, Anna Belle, Chevy, Abby and Geronimo.

Mother, wife, grandmother (Meme), aunt, sister and friend to all, Lois had a passion for many things and was generous beyond measure. Myrtle Beach will never be the same without Lois. Mom, we love you and we will miss you forever.
