Mary’s Obituary Mary Ann Cannon, 81, of Garden City, SC, previously of Cheltenham, PA died on February 22, 2019 at her home. She was born April 18, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA, daughter of the late Walter E. and Mary (Burke) McCormac. She had a love of learning and was an adventurer at heart.

She never shied away from new experiences or the chance to expand her knowledge. Mary Ann enjoy serving her community. She was a member of the Salter’s Cove Women’s Club and Catholic Daughters of the Americas at St. Michael Church.

She was a lifetime member of the Elks, Murrells Inlet and Marlton, NJ. Mary Ann was also a volunteer for 50 years at Presentation BVM Church rummage sale. She joins her husband of 56 years, James P. Cannon, who preceded her in death in 2013.

She is survived by 5 children, Kathleen Adam(Robert), James P. Cannon (Cheryl), Brian J. Cannon (Patricia), Sean T. Cannon (Kris) and Timothy E. Cannon, 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Also survived by a brother Walter J. McCormac (Mary Ann), and many nieces and nephews. Mary Ann shared her love of learning and helping others with her family.

She was well known for her love of cooking and you never left her home without a meal for the next day. Though she is gone, her legacy will live on in the many lives she has touched. “After all, to the well organized mind, death is but the next great adventure”.
