Obituary for Billy Boyd Smith Billy Boyd Smith Springhill, LA A celebration of the life of Mr. Billy Boyd Smith, age 87, will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church, Springhill, LA, with Bro. John Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery, Springhill, LA under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Springhill, LA.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 28, 2018, 5:00-7:00pm at Bailey Funeral Home. Mr. Smith was born March 28, 1931 to Henry Peyton and Lela Mae Farmer Smith in Delhi, LA. He went home to be with the Lord on Saturday May 26, 2018 in Springhill, LA.

He was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Springhill for the last 65 years. He was US Army veteran. Mr. Smith retired from International Paper Company after 34 years.

He was a member of the Springhill Masonic Lodge 348 FandAM. He enjoyed woodworking, restoring antique cars and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, living out his faith by serving others at every opportunity.

Over the Years he volunteered at the Church in many capacities. He was a Senior Friends volunteer at Springhill Medical Center. Above all he was devoted to his loving wife of 67 years Emily Coats Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Emily J. Coats Smith; his children,Teri L. Collins and husband, Chris of Overland Park, KS; Randy Smith and wife, Denise of Monroe, LA; Cynthia Covington and husband, Freddy of Springhill, LA; two sisters, Annie Ray and husband, Lewis of Taylor, AR; Fannie Jones and husband, Lindel of Morgan City, LA; brother, W. D. Smith and wife, Kathryn of Ruston, LA; six grandchildren, Luke Thompson, P. J. Kuddes, Megan Perry, Peyton Smith, Emily Covington, Tyler Covington; four great-grandchildren, Graham Thompson, Cece Thompson, Rivers Perry and Vivian Perry. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lonell Smith and Henry Smith; sisters, Jessie Etta Eubanks; Catherine Moon, Willie Mae Shepherd and Geneva Fuller. Pallbearers will be Peyton Smith, Tyler Covington, Thomas Wayne Hood, Chris Collins, Freddy Covington and James Ronald Lindsay.

Honorary pallbearer will be Luke Thompson. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Calvary Baptist Church. Sign our online guest book at www.
