Billy Ray Cottrell 65 of Shalersville went home to be with his Lord & Saviour Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 11, 1952 in Montgomery, WV to the late Emory R. and Thelma I. (Holbrook) Cottrell. Bill attended the Ravenna Assembly of God, was a Quality Inspector for Kennametal and a member of the NRA.

Bill was an outdoorsman that enjoyed camping, loved fishing and avid hunter. Known to his friends as Wilbur. Survivors include his wife of 40 years Mattie (Baisden), children Candice (Doug) Miller, Billy R. (Rachel) Cottrell II and Jason Cottrell, grandchildren David, Wayne, Morgan, Nathan, Hannah, Billy III and Emory, great grandchildren Natalie and Tori and sisters Brenda Burgess and Patricia DeLagrange.

Calling hours will be from 5 – 8 PM Friday, June 8, 2018 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10 AM Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Beck officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Shalersville.

In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to the Ravenna Assembly of God Church or Donate Life.
