Billy Wilson, born September 28, 1931 and residing in New Market, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 26, 2018. Billy Wilson served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army for two years stationed stateside and in Worms, Germany. He also worked in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park for 35 years.

He was a man of many talents when it came to his work in the park. Billy worked many years doing a little of everything in order to give his family the life they deserved.

Billy, for his family and community, restored a hundred-year-old school house in Upper Middle Creek to create a historical church the Williamsburg Pentecostal Church of God. He worked hard and out of love for his wife and children. He was a provider and did so in the greatest way possible.

He married his sweetheart Wanda Faye (Parton) Wilson on August 5th and this past August celebrated their 68th anniversary. Billy was a Husband, father, grandfather and over everything, a man of God. He will be remembered for the love and care he so whole heartedly provided to his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie & Kate (Stinnet) Wilson; sister, Juanita Myers & husband Chuck; sister, Nelly (Peggy) McCord & husband Percy; sister in law, Freida Wilson. Survived by his beloved wife of 68 Years, Wanda Faye (Parton) Wilson; children, Karen Hensley & husband Gary, Kathy Dickenson & husband Jimmy, Dale Wilson & wife Mitzi, Pamela Wilson, Paula Schettini; brother, Jack Wilson; Grandchildren, Kim Hall & companion Mark Jeffers, Kristi Maples, Leigh Maples, Chris Dickenson & wife Diana, Katie Williams & husband Adam, Jessica Wilson , Jennifer Perry & husband Daniel, Kendal Schettini, Landon Schettini; Great-grandchildren, Nick, Ashley, LaToshia, Austin, Brittney, Josh, Courtney, Desiree, Heidee, Natalie, Abram, Meadow; Great-great-grandchildren, Allie, Shaylyn, McKenzie, Max, Tobias, Mila, Chase, Avery, Addison, Braxton, Lexi, Carter; Step-grandchildren, Jason Hensley, Mathew Hensley, Nick Hensley, Peyton Jeffers; and many loved nieces and nephews; special family friends, Garret Johnson and Sandy Fortna. A special thanks to U.T. Hospice and all the staff for the wonderful care they gave to our beloved Husband, Dad, and Papaw.

The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Friday with funeral service following at 7 PM in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Leroy Parton officiating. Interment 1 PM Saturday in Middle Creek Cemetery with military honors provided by American Legion Post # 104.
