Bobby Ray Maxberry, age 80, of Johnson City, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 10, 2019 from the Johnson City Medical Center. Bobby was born in Ennis, Kentucky to the late Harry and Jeanetta Mefford Maxberry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Burton.

Bobby had worked as a maintenance machine supervisor for Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company. He was a member of Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church. He loved woodworking and was very hands-on with building things with wood and metal.

He also enjoyed driving in the mountains and loved eating. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of almost 24 years, Myra Jean Ford Maxberry, of the home; two daughters, Stacy McCullum, of Nobesville, IN and Sheila Pierce and husband Ken, of Louisville, KY; two step children, Anthony Johnson and wife Cindy, of Elizabethton and Lisa Johnson Short, of Elizabethton; twelve grandchildren, Andrew, Rebecca, Jeremiah, Chris, Jennifer, Jamie, Isaac, Garbriel, Anna, Isabelle, Sarah and Josh; ten great grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Phillips, of Winter Haven, FL. A service to honor the life of Bobby Ray Maxberry will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church with Rev.

Randy Johnson, Rev. Mark Potter and Rev. David Vanoy, officiating.

Music will be under the direction of the Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church Praise Choir and Jeff Snyder. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the church, prior to the service on Wednesday. The graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 14, 2019 in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Corbin, Kentucky.

Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:50 PM on Thursday. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church, 1503 Riverview Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
