Sylvia Marie Smith, age 84, of Bluff City, Tennessee has gone home to be with her Heavenly father on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 from the Dominion Senior Center. Marie was born in Abingdon, Virginia to the late Oscar and Zelda Harmon Widner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Omer Leonard Smith; and several brothers and sisters.

Marie was very social and loved being around family. She constantly volunteered for her church and the Slater Center and was always visiting people. Marie retired from Mitchell Powers Hardware as a secretary and was a member of First Baptist Church in Bluff City.

Those left to cherish her memories include a daughter, Kathy Frazier and husband Steve, of Bristol; a son, Gerald Smith and wife Sharon, of Bluff City; four grandchildren, Lauren Crain and husband Adam, of Allentown, PA, Tyler Frazier and wife Barbara, of State College, PA, Katelin Frazier, of Bluff City and David Scott, also of Bluff City; seven great grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters. A service to celebrate the life of Sylvia Marie Smith will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 31, 2019 in the Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Bluff City with Pastor Adam Crain, officiating. Music will be provided by Lori Richardson.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Sunday. The family would like to especially thank the doctors and staff of Dominion Senior Living of Bristol and Smokey Mountain Hospice for the love and care shown to Marie during her illness. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2319 Browns Mill Road, Johnson City, TN 37604.
