Gertrude Davis Williams, age 87 of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2019 in The Waters of Johnson City Rehabilitation Center. She was born on April 20, 1931, a daughter of the late William and Lillie Belle Buchanan Davis. She was a member of the Boones Creek Baptist Church and worked many years in the Washington County School System.

She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, crafts and exploring her family’s genealogy. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur C. Williams Jr; a daughter, Sara Jane Tutko; Sisters: Laura, Flora, Lockie, Bonnie and Patsy Ruth; and her brothers: Lloyd, Clifford, William T, Art, and Johnny. She is survived by her loving family: Chris Tutko, Barbara Diane McConaghie (Alan), Mary Jo Warren (Gary), Arthur “Bill” C. Williams III, James Michael Williams (Lynda), Sylvia Jean Harris (Rick) Eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, a special nephew, Freddie Jack Davis and a host of many relatives and friends left behind to mourn her passing.

Funeral services for Ms. Gertrude Williams will be conducted on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services of Johnson City. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, after 6:00 P.M. until the hour of service at 7:00 P.M. A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, April 4, 2019 in the Culpeper National Cemetery, 305 US Avenue, Culpeper, Virginia 22701, at 12:00 noon with family members and friends serving as pallbearers. The family would like to extended their deepest gratitude to Kim and her staff at Amedisys Hospice, as well as Melissa Poderis & Jessica Nickles to shown much care and Kindness to Ms. Williams.
