Mrs. Bonnie Fennell Pennington, age 65 of Rockmart passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019. Mrs. Pennington was born July 31, 1953 in Cobb County, daughter of the late James A. Fennell, Sr. and the late Faye McFall Fennell. She was self-employed in rental management and enjoyed hairstyling, flowers and gardening.

Bonnie also loved to bake and decorate cakes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Curtis Pennington; and two great-grandchildren, Rayce Koob and Krew Koob. Survivors include her husband, Roy Ray Pennington, Sr. of Rockmart to whom she was married September 7, 2005; three daughters, Selena Nikki Pyles and her husband Bryan and Shawna Pennington both of Rockmart and Tammy McBurnett and her husband Todd of Adairsville; four sons, Lewis Shane Hogan and his wife Stacey of Taylorsville, Roy Pennington and James Pennington both of Rockmart and Chad Pennington and his wife Tara of Tallapoosa; sister, Janette C. Sponsel and her husband Carl of Marietta; two brothers, James Alfred Fennell, Jr. and Troy Franklin “Buddy” Fennell both of Rockmart; 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Pennington will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Cole and Rev. Dallas Cornette officiating.

Interment services will follow in Paulding Memorial Gardens. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Zach Sherman, Matthew Koob, Chad Pennington, Justin Fennell, Adam Sponsel and Allen Sponsel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday prior to the service from 12 noon until 2:30 p.m. Freeman Harris Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral services for Mrs. Bonnie Fennell Pennington.
