Brenda Whitaker Lane, 79, of Scottsville, KY passed away Monday, June 25, 2018 at the Medical Center at Scottsville. The Peabody, MA was a homemaker, retired office coordinator for the Religion Department of Western Kentucky University, former missionary and member of New Life Free Methodist Church. She was the daughter of the late Harold Kenneth Whitaker and Sylvia Irene Wertanen Whitaker and wife of the late Dr. William Lister Lane.

She is survived by 3 daughters: Sandra Lane Covey and husband, Roy Gene, Silverdale, WA; Diane Robin Crowell, Scottsville, KY; Debra Lane Gensheimer and husband, Jerry, Bowling Green, KY; 2 brothers: Stephen Whitaker and wife, Annie, FL and Dr. Jeffrey Wendall Whitaker and wife, Julia, NH; 6 grandchildren: Diana Fuller and husband, Josh; Stephen Cobey; Dawn Melikant; Kate Collins and husband, Patrick; Julia Gensheimer and Ryan Gensheimer; 5 great grandchildren: Amaya, Greysyn, Berlin, Korrigan and Cherie. There will be no visitation or funeral service.
