Obituary for Burel Marshall Burel Walter Marshall, age 76, of Granite Falls passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018. He was born September, 28, 1941 in Caldwell County, son of the late Cecil Marshall and Elizabeth Benfield Marshall. He was also preceded in death by an infant son Burel Walter Marshall Jr., four brothers, Wayne, Larry, Randy and Tinker Marshall and a sister Wanda Nelson.
Burel was a member of Temple Hill Baptist and a US Army Veteran. He was a Truck Driving Instructor for Caldwell Community College. He enjoyed fishing trips with his brothers, gardening and being outdoors.
Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of fifty years, Judith McGuire Marshall of the home, a daughter, Kimberly McGee (Derrin) of Connelly Springs, a son, Tony Marshall (Trish) of Connelly Springs, granddaughter, Hailey Carter, Sister Joyce Marshall Turner (Bruce) of Hickory, brother, Bobby Marshall (Jackie) of Granite Falls and a sister-in-law, Brenda Marshall of Glen Fork, West Virginia. A Visitation will be held at Temple Hill Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 1:30-3:00 pm with the Service to follow at 3:00 pm officiated by Rev. Darrell Hatchell and Rev.
Clyde Bumgarner. Burial will be in the Temple Hill Church Cemetery. Military honors will be rendered by the DAV Chapter 6 of Caldwell County.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Temple Hill Baptist Church, 4400 Temple Hill Church Rd. , Granite Falls, NC 28630. Mackie Funeral Home of Granite Falls, NC is serving the family.
