Obituary for Calvin Russell Peoples Bluefield, WV- Calvin Russell Peoples, 61, of Bluefield, WV, departed his Earthly body to be with Jesus on Friday April 6, 2018 at his home. Calvin was loved by many, and was a Private Contractor for 33 years with Donnie Linkous. He was a member of Matthews Holiness Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen V. Peoples; father, Stewart C. Peoples; brother, James Peoples; sister, Shirley Zigler Kelley; and mother-in-law, Cora E. Thaxton. He leaves behind his loving wife of 33 years, JoAnne Thaxton Peoples; two sons, Calvin Peoples, Jr. and Clifton Henderson; daughter, Darlisa Peoples and husband Mike, all of Bluefield, WV; two sisters, Patricia Rice and husband Stan, and Dorothy Thompson and husband Mike, of Bluefield, WV; his brothers from another mother, Donnie Linkous, Phillip Williams, and Steven Peoples; special aunt, Salley Mae McClanahan; sisters-in-law, Louise Eaves, Linda Moore, and Jacqueline Williams and husband Walter; and brother-in-law, Dewayne Thaxton and wife Mildred; 17 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Melva Brooks, Amanda Reese, Joel Schor, and Hospice Compassus.

A memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday April 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Ken Hawthorne, Pastor Marquinta Cox, and Pastor Larry Ramey officiating.
